What a run! I'm beside myself that we just hosted Canada's first, free public exhibition of augmented reality art—during a pandemic! Knowing that our city faced a long and dreary lockdown, we tasked ourselves with finding a way to continue connecting people to art and inspirational experiences in public spaces. It's not as experts in new technology that we took this road, but that the pandemic experience has pushed us all beyond our comfort zones to reimagine new opportunities.
VMF Winter Arts transformed public space across our city's core into an open-air gallery featuring 24 AR artworks—by local and international artists—to safely connect and support our communities. If you haven't had a chance to experience it, we invite you to get out and explore until February 28. For those unable to visit in person, we hope you enjoy this recap video. Huge thanks to our presenting partners and our many other partners, sponsors, artists and team who joined us in this fabulous experiment
